Well we got the news we have all been waiting for for the past week. I just got off the phone with an update from
Gram-pa Glenn who is in Calgary.......The grafting is taking well and doctors feel that if Cole's progress continues to go as well as it has, he may even be home for his birthday on May 14
th. ....We'll keep our fingers crossed. .... Cole is back at turning pages in his book and shaking his rattle. The highlight of the day is that Cole gave two big genuine smiles to Kirsten..... The doctors are putting Cole back on some medication to help him deal with the itching. Yesterday they moved Cole to the "Burn Ward" from ICU and Kirsten is now doing a lot of the care that Cole needs herself. The last few days have been a bit tough on Cole as he was going through withdrawal from the medications. There is still about 4 weeks to go and more grafting to be done.
Cole and Kirsten had
a lot of visitor this past week. The whole
McLennen clan (
Gram-ma Shelley's side of the family),.....
Gram-ma Margaret and Pete's sisters and family,......girlfriends of Kirsten from the valley....
Gram-pa Glenn, Megan, Uncle Ben, Kim, Kathy and Maddie , Scott, Paula, Jordan, and Jake....and I am sure there are many, many, more I do not know of. And of course Pete (Slim).
For those Facebook users....."A Big Get Well Wish for Cole Feldmann" now has 84 members.. ...WOW!!! It is so nice to see.
Till the next update, thank you every body.
To Cole, Kirsten and Pete......You are in our thoughts and prayers, we think of you always. Keep those smiles coming Cole.
